Ceramic Brussels

Work by: Berta Blanca T. Ivanow.

On the 22nd and 23rd of January, we visited the Ceramics Brussel Art Fair. We were very excited to see so many artist working in ceramics and showing their work, in one place. The fair, which is situated in the fantastic halls of Tour & Taxis, is a great place to get inspired and talk with artists and galerists about contemporary ceramics.

We met a fantastic young artist from Spain: Berta-Blanca T. Ivanow who was exhibiting her beautiful tactile sculptures at the Tramuntana gallery from Girona. Jordi Trullàs, the gallery owner told us about the focus of the gallery which is not only ceramics but also textile art and design furniture. This gallery will definitely be on our list when we travel south.

We were also very impressed with the exhibition of the 10 laureats selected by the jury.
Especially the playful and humorous work of  Santiago Insignares Martinez and the multimedia installation of  Lorie Ballage caught our attention.

There was so much to see: here a small selection of the diversity of works in ceramics. You can find all the participating artists in this catalogue.
